Heïdi Mullins Lemieux

Heïdi Mullins Lemieux's immense passion for crochet began during a vacation visit to a museum on Washington Island, Wisconsin. There she spotted an antique crochet piece made over a century ago by a local woman. Since then, she has continued on a journey to redefine the stereotypes of crochet by using the added influence of minimalist fashion, architecture and the Opera and Le Cirque Du Soleil worlds she grew up in. In 2010, she earned her BA in Fashion Design at The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago (SAIC). One of her garments from her graduating class collection was used extensively for promotional material for the SAIC Nightwalk Fashion Show of 2010. This garment and three others that she developed for the same collection made extensive use of crochet.
