The Alliance Française Professionals Group (AFPG) is a peer-driven group that supports the mission of the Alliance Française de Chicago through fundraising, community involvement, and networking opportunities.

What We Do

Create Valuable Networks

Participate in networking and relationship-building opportunities and events with other AF leaders, including the Board of Directors and Woman’s Board.

Build Professional Experience

Build new skills by taking on leadership roles within the group, all while contributing to one of Chicago’s oldest cultural institutions.

Project Management & Event Planning

Bastille Day

Our Bastille Day celebration happens every Saturday before Bastille Day (July 14). Every year, it is an absolute hit, drawing over 300 guests of all ages to the Alliance Française de Chicago for the festivities.

Our full day of celebration is part a delightful daytime filled with family activities and part an exciting evening powered by a live DJ and classic French bites from our incredible partners.

The Professionals Group takes over for the evening, where guests are treated to refreshing cocktails crafted with Grey Goose, Citadelle Gin, and Plantation Rum, thrilling waiters’ races, and, of course, mouthwatering crêpes.

The day is always filled with laughter, culture, and joy in our bijoux courtyard. Don’t miss out on the next fête!

Membership Criteria

Alliance Française Professionals Group (AFPG) membership criteria:

  • 21-50 years old at the time of joining
  • Maintain active Alliance Française de Chicago membership.
    Not a member? Don’t worry, you can become one here!
  • Interest in Francophone culture (Ability to speak French not required!)
  • Commitment to further the mission and reach of the Alliance Française
  • Willingness to contribute (skills, time, donations) to the Alliance Française and the AFPG
