Chez Kids Academy

Bienvenue to the Alliance Française de Chicago’s youth education center, offering French classes, Preschool programs, Summer Camp, and weekly free events! Our classes are conducted in French by dedicated and experienced teachers.

French classes and immersion can open doors to a lifetime of dynamic learning, travel, and cultural appreciation.

Immersion Programs

Preschool

Prepare your child for the start of their scholastic journey with the added benefit of French immersion!

Learn more about our Preschool program for ages 3–5.

French Summer Camp

We offer Summer Camp for learners age 6-12, with activities like yoga, cooking, dance, theatre, and more. Our camp is an immersive French experience, but no prior French knowledge is necessary.

Bonjour Les Kids: Every Wednesday!

Join us for 30 minutes of stories, songs and dancing! Bonjour Les Kids is a casual and interactive space for preschoolers (age 3-7) AND their caregivers to sing along and learn traditional French songs and nursery rhymes!

This free Zoom program will run for 30 minutes every Wednesday from 10:00–10:30 a.m.

French classes for learners age 1–16 (Late-Fall Session: Nov. 19–Jan. 30)

Immerse your little one in French with you by their side! These 30–minute classes awaken children’s senses and intellect.

Note: Registration maximum is 10 students.

ONLINE on Saturdays, 9:00–9:30 a.m. Register

Children will learn French through games, songs, dances, story-telling, and do-it-yourself activities!

ONLINE on Saturdays, 9:45–10:25 a.m. Register

Your child will discover the world of French language and learn basic communication skills in French. They will sing, create and speak with Tatou le Matou, the French-speaking cat, while making new friends!

Following Ludo and his friends in their adventures, your child will develop their abilities to understand and speak French. Along the way, they’ll enjoy songs, games, and stories with their new friends!

ON-SITE on Saturdays, 10:40 a.m.–12:10 p.m. Register

Students will learn French with topics adapted to their age, with emphasis on oral expression. New students will be placed in the class appropriate for their level.

Grammaire et Conversation: Let’s Speak French (Teen)

In this NEW class, students will use magazines, news articles, videos and a grammar book to continue to build upon their French foundation and develop their capacity to communicate.
