Chez Kids Academy

Bienvenue to the Alliance Française de Chicago’s youth education center, offering Saturday French classes (full schedule below!), Preschool programs, Summer Camp, and more! Our classes are conducted in French by dedicated and experienced teachers.

French classes and immersion can open doors to a lifetime of dynamic learning, travel, and cultural appreciation.

Spring: September 13 - November 1, 2025

French for Families: Ages 0-2 years old
Immerse your little one in French with you by their side! These 30–minute classes of songs and stories awaken children’s senses and expose them to French as they begin to discover the world!

Class will be followed by a brief 15 mins time to socialize with other families.

This class is perfect for families who wish to expose their children to French and meet other Francophone or francophile families.

Note: Registration maximum is 10 students.

French for Families: Ages 2-4 years old.
Children will learn French through games, songs, dances, story-telling, and do-it-yourself activities all with you by their side!

The first 15 mins of class will be free play time for students and an opportunity to socialize with other families.

This is the ideal time for your child to discover and explore French in a friendly and fun environment.

ONSITE on Saturdays, 9:30–10:30 a.m. REGISTER

French for Kindergarten
Your child will discover the world of French language and learn basic communication skills in French through the “Les Petits Loustics" series. They will sing, create and speak while making new friends!

This is an ideal time in your child’s life for language exposure and learning. Join us for this friendly and fun class to ignite your child’s passion and curiosity for French.

French for 1st and 2nd grade
Through this atelier style class, your child will develop their abilities to understand and speak French. Along the way, they’ll enjoy songs, games, activities and stories with their new friends! This class will complement the skills of these emerging readers and writers. This is the perfect time for your kids to absorb the sounds of French and develop foundational language skills that will stay with them for years to come.

French for 3rd Grade
Following the Sesame 1 series, your child will develop their abilities to understand and speak French in a structured way doing activities crafted perfectly for their development. Class will integrate linguistic goals through educational games, activities, songs, and more. This class is ideal for children between 8-9 years old who wish for guided exposure to the language.

French for 4th Grade
Following the second half of the Sesame 1 series, your child will continue to develop their abilities to understand and speak French.

Take advantage of this time in your child’s educational journey where they are equipped to really soak up critical concepts and vocabulary. This class is ideal for children between 9-10 years old who are ready to explore the language and grow their skills.

French for A1 (suggested for 5th grade)
Following the Adomania 1 series, this course is for tweens to build their practical French skills through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Students will discover what daily life and school are like for French teens, while learning to understand and express themselves in everyday situations. Ideal for students who are ready to explore the language in a fun, guided environment.

French for A1/A2 (suggested for 7th grade)
Building on the Adomania 2 series, this class gives teens the chance to expand their French through interactive activities, conversation, and foundational grammar. Students will explore what high school is like in France, discover how French teenagers explore their career path and educational options, and learn how teens in France earn and spend money. Perfect for learners who are ready for a fun, practical, and culturally rich learning experience.

French for A2 (suggested for 9th grade)
Using the Adomania 3 series, this class helps teens deepen their French skills through interactive activities, guided conversation, and essential grammar practice. Students will explore topics relevant to teen life—like friendships, travel, personal interests, and cultural identity—while building confidence in their ability to understand and express themselves in French. Ideal for learners with some prior experience who are ready to take their language skills to the next level.

French for B1 (suggested for 11th grade)
Designed for teens with a solid foundation in French, this class follows the Adomania 4 series, along with other supplemental resources and focuses on strengthening practical and conversational skills. Through interactive activities, real-world themes, and thoughtful discussions, students will explore complex topics relevant to their age—such as global citizenship, social issues, and life after high school—all while reinforcing grammar and vocabulary in a meaningful context.

Art en français (Ages 6-9)
This class offers a step-by-step introduction to artistic techniques: drawing, proportions, perspective, and composition, followed by an exploration of color through painting, watercolor, and pastels. Students will work with fun and varied themes such as animals or everyday scenes, and also discover the joy of modeling clay—an excellent material for developing creativity and fine motor skills.

Taught in French, these workshops allow children to immerse themselves in the language while nurturing their artistic expression in a joyful and supportive environment!

ONSITE on Saturdays, 10:30–11:30 a.m. REGISTER

Immersion Programs

Preschool

Prepare your child for their scholastic journey through an immersive French curriculum!

French Summer Camp

We offer Summer Camp for learners age 6-12, with activities like yoga, cooking, dance, theatre, and more. Our camp is an immersive French experience, but no prior French knowledge is necessary.
