Health and Safety

Our Highest Priority

Health and Safety

The health and safety of our community is our highest priority. Here’s what we’ve been doing to keep our community « en bonne santé. »

Our Safety Protocols

Our diligent health and safety protocols are in accordance with the CDC and City of Chicago guidelines. Therefore, wearing a mask in our building is optional but recommended, particularly in our auditorium and other large gathering spaces. We are no longer checking proof of vaccination.

These guidelines are subject to change at any time and will always be promptly communicated to our members and students.

Our Commitment

We have increased our building’s cleaning frequency, and we use PathoSans, a next-generation sanitizing and disinfecting solution. This electrostatic, non-chemical spray is used by major companies such as United Airlines.

Additionally, we have invested in Global Plasma Solutions technology, a state-of-the art bipolar ionization technology for air filtration that kills contaminants in the air.

Changes to our programs and services

French Classes

We are offering our beloved French classes with online, on-site, and hybrid options.

Our online and hybrid classes are held on Zoom; once you register for a class, we will send you a digital invitation for the class in the form of a URL link. Expect to receive this link via email about 24 hours before your first class.

Kids and Teens

Currently, our Saturday kids’ classes are mostly online; view our class offerings to see which are online and which are on-site.

In our Preschool program, Les Poussins and P’tits Loups are still learning and growing on-site with masks!

From Grande Section to CM2, CNED students still have classes on-site at the Alliance.

Culture

We’re offering our culture events in both online and on-site formats; for example, most larger events (such as lectures and workshops) are held online.

For members of the Alliance Française, our library, the Brown Médiathèque, has Curbside Pickup service on Saturdays. We also have a virtual library, the Culturethèque, which is accessible 24/7 from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
