Trial Classes

Want to know what French classes are like at AF-Chicago? Spend 45 minutes in one of our Trial Classes to get to know the Alliance. Meet our teachers, connect with other motivated and curious students, experience the learning material, and ask any questions you’d like!

Our trial classes, taught by experienced teachers certified in FLE, are designed to help you dive into the language, or actively use the French you already know while expanding your vocabulary, improving sentence structure, and increasing fluency. Through practical conversation and interactive activities, you’ll gain the confidence to express yourself more naturally in French. One 45-minute trial class will show you what you’re capable of, and the Summer Session will help you take the next step toward real-world communication.

The $20 fee will be deducted from your Summer class registration (new students only).

Wednesday, June 17

Introduction Level

5:30 – 6:15 p.m.

This Introduction-level Trial Class is suited for True Beginners, or those with very minimal experience with the French language looking to start revisit the basics and build a strong foundation. If you’ve been an adult learner stuck on the sidelines—watching others travel abroad, communicate with international friends, or enjoy French cinema without subtitles—this is your moment!

A2 Level (Adv. Beginners)

6:20 – 7:05 p.m.

This A2-Level (Advanced Beginner) Trial Class is designed for learners who already have a basic foundation in French and are ready to build more confidence speaking, listening, and communicating in everyday situations. If you’ve studied French before but still hesitate when speaking, struggle to keep conversations going, or want to feel more comfortable using the language while traveling, socializing, or enjoying French media, this class is for you!

B1 Level (Intermediate)

7:10 – 7:55 p.m.

This B1-Level (Intermediate) Trial Class is designed for learners who already have a solid foundation in French and are ready to communicate with greater ease, accuracy, and independence in real-life situations. If you can handle basic conversations but want to speak more fluidly, express opinions more confidently, and better understand authentic French conversations, media, and culture, this class is the perfect next step!
