More about the Soto Quartet:

The Soto String Quartet brings together musicians from the Civic Orchestra inspired by famed Venezuelan artist Jesús Rafael Soto (1923-2005), the country they come from.  A proponent of kinetic art, Soto used a range of techniques to create a sense of movement. The name Soto Quartet is intended to represent “energy in art, in the name of this important Venezuelan artist.”

More about the Civic Orchestra:

The Civic Orchestra of Chicago trains young professional musicians for careers in symphony orchestras. Under the guidance of Principal Conductor Ken-David Masur, a faculty of coaches from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and numerous luminary guest conductors including CSO Zell Music Director Riccardo Muti, Civic Members refine their skills and gain experience through monthly rehearsals, coachings, performances and workshops.
