En partenariat avec Villa Albertine, l’Alliance a l’honneur d’accueillir actrice franco-turque Nil Bosca pour une représentation de sa pièce de théâtre, Euphrate.

Destiné aux ados aussi bien qu’aux adultes, ce seul-en-scène puissant mêle humour, danse et théâtre pour suivre le chemin d’une jeune femme qui—entre retour aux sources et arrachement à l’origine—s’invente.

Le spectacle sera suivi par une séance de questions-réponses avec Nil et une réception, où le public aura l’occasion de continuer la discussion avec l’actrice et rencontrer d’autres francophiles et amateur.ice.s de théâtre autour d’un verre de vin français.

Ouverture des portes à 18h. Spectacle à 18h30. Entrée à 54 W Chicago Ave. Des breuvages sans alcool seront offerts.

In partnership with Villa Albertine, the Alliance is honored to welcome Franco-Turkish actress Nil Bosca for a performance of her play, Euphrate.

Aimed at both teenagers and adults, this powerful solo performance blends humor, dance, and theater to follow the journey of a young woman who—between returning to her roots and breaking away from her origins—reinvents herself.

The performance will be followed by a Q&A session with Nil and a reception, where the audience will have the opportunity to continue the discussion with the actress and meet other Francophiles and theater enthusiasts over a glass of French wine.

Fille d’un père turc et d’une mère normande, Euphrate est une lycéenne en classe de terminale qui rencontre des difficultés avec le système scolaire. Outre ses résultats assez médiocres, elle doit prochainement exprimer son choix d’orientation professionnelle : un vrai casse-tête. Elle en vient alors à se demander quelle incidence sa double culture a pu avoir sur la construction de son identité. Dans un dialogue savoureux et plein d’humour avec son père, elle part à la rencontre de ses racines turques et de ses souvenirs d’enfance. Entremêlant la danse et les mots, le spectacle raconte avec la liberté d’un corps joyeux le chemin vers l’affirmation de sa propre parole de femme.

The daughter of a Turkish father and a French mother, Euphrate is a high school senior struggling with the school system. Besides her rather mediocre grades, soon she has to choose a career path: a real dilemma. She starts to wonder what impact her dual cultural heritage has had on the development of her identity. In a witty and humorous dialogue with her father, she explores her Turkish roots and childhood memories. Interweaving dance and spoken word, Euphrate—with the freedom of a joyful body—recounts her journey toward finding her own voice as a woman.

Après avoir obtenu un Master 2 en psychologie clinique, Nil Bosca se tourne vers le théâtre et entre au Conservatoire d’art dramatique du 12ème arrondissement de Paris, puis à l’École du Jeu. En parallèle, elle se forme de façon autodidacte à la danse, puis travaille avec Jann Gallois et Chrystel Calvet en danse contemporaine ainsi qu’avec plusieurs danseurs de hip-hop à la porte de Pantin et au 104.

Depuis sa sortie d’école en 2018, elle joue au théâtre dans les projets de Mani Soleymanlou (« Trois » au Théâtre National de Chaillot, au TGP et au Tarmac), Delphine Eliet (« Enjeux Pro », MC93), Stanislas Roquette, Monique Stalens et la cie du Pavillon 33 (« Richard 2 » de Shakespeare, Anis Gras).\

Comme danseuse, elle joue dans le spectacle « Humanoïdes » de Jann Gallois, et tourne dans les films/clips de Laura Combeau (« Solere »), Charles Habib-Drouot (« Touché par la foi » / A.Viot), Giacomo Abbruzzese (« Disco Boy ») et Armel Hostiou (« Khellitni najri maurak » / M.Lamouri).

Après avoir assisté Joël Pommerat sur un stage de création du spectacle « Ça ira (1) Fin de Louis » en 2014, elle travaille sur « Les Mômes porteurs » de Mounia Raoui et Jean-Yves Ruf en tant que regard artistique et chorégraphique.

Par ailleurs, elle écrit et interprète seule « Euphrate », un spectacle autour de ses origines turques, mis en scène avec la complicité de Stanislas Roquette et d’Olivier Constant, produit par la cie Artépo. Euphrate est actuellement en tournée en France et à l’International (avec le soutien de la Villa Albertine et de l’Institut Français). Nil Bosca est représentée par Elisabeth Tanner au sein de l’Agence Time Art.

After obtaining a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, Nil Bosca turned to theater and enrolled at the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique in Paris’s 12th arrondissement, then at the Ecole du Jeu. She taught herself dance, and worked with Jann Gallois and Chrystel Calvet in contemporary dance as well as with several hip-hop dancers at Porte de Pantin and Le 104.

Since graduating in 2018, she has performed in plays by Mani Soleymanlou (“Trois” at the Théâtre National de Chaillot, the TGP, and the Tarmac), Delphine Eliet (“Enjeux Pro,” MC93), Stanislas Roquette, Monique Stalens, and the Pavillon 33 company (“Richard 2” by Shakespeare, Anis Gras).

As a dancer, she has performed in Jann Gallois’s show “Humanoïdes” and appeared in films and music videos by Laura Combeau (“Solere”), Charles Habib-Drouot (“Touché par la foi” / A. Viot), Giacomo Abbruzzese (“Disco Boy”), and Armel Hostiou (“Khellitni najri maurak” / M. Lamouri).

After assisting Joël Pommerat during a creative workshop for the show “Ça ira (1) Fin de Louis” in 2014, she worked on “Les Mômes porteurs” by Mounia Raoui and Jean-Yves Ruf as an artistic and choreographic consultant.

In addition, she wrote and performs “Euphrate,” a solo piece exploring her Turkish heritage, directed in collaboration with Stanislas Roquette and Olivier Constant, and produced by the Artépo company. “Euphrate” is currently touring in France and internationally (with support from the Villa Albertine and the French Institute). Nil Bosca is represented by Elisabeth Tanner at the Time Art Agency.

The Alliance Franaise de Chicago is located one block from the CTA Red Line stop at Chicago Ave. The closest bus stops are the 22 on Clark St and the 66 on Chicago Ave. A Divvy station is located in front of the 54 W Chicago Ave entrance.
