The Alliance is honored to host an intimate and celebratory evening of poetry and translation to launch the third issue of translatlantic poetry journal Transat’!

Transat’ pubishes texts in English and French. Poems, translations, and essays travel from one continent to the other: a globalized conversation, on a bridge of linguistic and cultural exchanges.

The program will feature readings from an exciting line-up of artists featured in the new edition:

  • Juliet Gelfman-Randazzo
  • Sara Gilmore
  • Thom Eichelberger-Young
  • Ken Taylor
  • Yuyi Chen
  • Maud Bougerol

Following the readings, guests will have the chance to meet the artists and mix and mingle with their fellow Francophiles and poetry enthusiasts over a complimentary glass of French wine and light refreshments, generously provided by Villa Albertine.

Doors at 6:00 p.m. Program at 6:30 p.m. Please enter via 810 N Dearborn St. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Eleanor Wood Prince Salon. Non-alcoholic options will be available.

About the Journal

Transat’

Transat’ is published semiannually, in late spring and early winer. Each year, two guest editors guide the conversation. Transat’ is about creating community: by sending two small packages a year to their subscribers, organizing events wherever they go, and dropping off issues of the journals as they travel back and forth, in bookstores on both sides of the ocean.
