About the Dancers

Christina Mariae

Christina’s dance journey has been enriched by studying with legendary Egyptian masters such as Mona el Said, Randa Kamel, Kazafy, and Asmahana, honing her skills and deepening her understanding of this beautiful art form. Her performances are characterized by a sense of warmth and vivaciousness, a testament to her multifaceted approach to the dance form. Her diverse artistic background and dedication to her craft shine through in every performance, leaving audiences enchanted and inspired.

Mary Mulcahey

Mary Mulcahey is a Chicago-based Dabke instructor, choreographer and performer specializing in traditional and modern Lebanese dance. She teaches and performs at cultural events and leads master classes for all ages. Since 2013, she has performed with the Our Lady of Lebanon Dabke Troupe and, since 2021 has trained 50+ students while coordinating performances, fundraising, and costuming. She holds an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, with her thesis research being about women’s spaces in Dabke. She also holds a B.A. in Advocacy and Social Change Communications, and an A.A. In French Literature from Loyola University Chicago.

François “DJ Frankie French” Bosseau is a Chicago-based artist who loves music, art, and fitness. He creates innovative beats and experiences for wide-ranging audiences.

Festival de la Francophonie is the Alliance Française de Chicago’s annual flagship festival, featuring a vibrant lineup of free public programs over the course of the month of March—the official Mois de la Francophonie—celebrating the world’s French-speaking cultures. AF-Chicago is honored to partner with cultural organizations and government institutions across the city to offer high-quality cultural experiences and a forum where people of all ages and backgrounds can discover and connect with the cultures, customs, and language of the Francophone world, to promote lifelong learning and cultural understanding.

Getting Here

The Alliance Française de Chicago is one block from the CTA Red line stop at Chicago Ave. Best bus routes are the 22 on Clark and the 66 on Chicago Ave. A Divvy station is located in front of the 54 W Chicago Ave entrance.

$10 parking for 12 hours available at Legacy Parking (100 W Chestnut St); QR code for validation available at reception.
