Join us for a fun day of French workshops and activities, community, and specialty food on our patio! From French conversation to board games to dictée, and our favorite French spirits, there will be plenty of fun for everyone!
Refresher– Forgot all your French in the last year? We get it! This course is specifically designed to help you dive back in, shake off the rust and consolidate what you had learned, while inspiring you to continue on your French journey.
Musique, la Vérité – France has always had a rich tradition of pop music. Listen to extracts and discover new (or old) artists while working around the songs’ linguistic and musical content, and its specific meaning and significance.
Conversation – Use your French to comment on and understand historical and societal events.
Blagues en series – Using popular cultural references, stereotypes and series (ex: Drole), learn how to spot, understand the French (sometimes acquired) sense of humor and get an even deeper knowledge of France.
Idioms – Take your French skills to the next step and understand why “poser un lapin” (land a rabbit) has nothing to do with cooking or the animal kingdom as you study French proverbs and phrases.
Jeux de Société – Learning a language involves playing on words but also sometimes playing with words! See how well you can do at classic board games and quizzes en français.
Series/Movie Screening – All the things you are not supposed to do at the movies…watch, pause, and talk about what just happened.
La Dictée – It’s your time to shine and WIN A FREE BOOK! Listen to French text, write it down, the student with the least amount of spelling errors takes the prize!
Cocktail Workshop – Après l’effort, le reconfort (work hard, play hard)… relax after all your work today and keep on learning as you discover more about the history and craft of French spirits.
