To kick off our February Fantastique Film Festival, we are delighted to announce our screening of the 1960 horror film Les Yeux sans visage (Eyes Without a Face).
Outside of Paris, a corpse is found in a river and identified by Dr. Génessier as his daughter Christiane. In reality, Christiane lives in a Parisian mansion after being disfigured in an automobile accident. When her father fails to graft the corpse’s facial skin onto his daughter’s face, Christiane wears a mask. Dr. Génessier promises to restore her face, luring young women to his private clinic to remove their faces.
Considered one of the greatest and most influential horror films of all time, Les Yeux sans visage continues to inspire filmmakers, from its iconic mask to its exploration of preserving beauty at any cost.
Doors at 6:00 PM. Program at 6:30p.m. Please enter via 54 W Chicago Ave.
