As winter starts to settle in, join us for a heart-warming, music-themed adventure as part of our Cinémélodie series, with our screening of the 2009 comedy-drama Le Concert.
Andrei Simonovich, a former world-famous conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre orchestra known as “The Maestro,” is fired for hiring Jewish musicians and works as a janitor at the theatre where he once conducted. After discovering that the orchestra was invited to perform at the prestigious Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, he creates a plan to reunite his old orchestra and take over the performance. Le Concert won two Césars in 2010 for Best Original Score and Best Sound and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 68th Golden Globes.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of Louis Jadot Bourgogne and a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Sofitel Magnificent Mile’s très chic Le Bar.
Doors at 6:00 PM for a complimentary glass of wine. Program at 6:30. Please enter via 54 W Chicago Ave. Non-alcoholic options will be available.
