Selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, Belgian writer-director Laura Wandel’s first feature film tells the story of siblings, Nora and Abel, confronted with bullying and problems of integration in elementary school. Divided between children’s and adult’s worlds, Nora would have to figure out her role in the attacks on his brother.

With an introduction by Stephano Smars, Trade Commissioner of Wallonia-Belgium. Post-screening discussion led by Paul Van Halteren, Honorary Consul of Belgium in Chicago.

Film in French with English subtitles, post-screening talk in English. Belgian beer service to close program. Registration is mandatory!

Sélectionné dans la section Un Certain Regard du Festival de Cannes 2021, ce film poignant signe le premier long métrage de la scénariste-réalisatrice belge, Laura Wadel. Un Monde raconte l’histoire d’une fratrie, Nora et Abel, confrontée au harcèlement et aux problèmes d’intégration à l’école primaire. Partagée entre le monde des enfants et celui des adultes, Nora devra trouver sa place face aux attaques subies par son frère.

La projection du film sera introduite par Stephano Smars, Commissaire au Commerce de Wallonie-Belgique et suivie d’une discussion avec Paul Van Halteren, Consul Honoraire de Belgique.
