Description

Children of all ages and their families are invited to join us for a multilingual story hour and writing workshop in celebration of European Day of Languages!

The Alliance Française de Chicago is thrilled to partner with cultural organizations and government institutions across the city on the European Festival of Languages, a series of programs celebrating cultural exchange and the expansive linguistic and immigrant heritages of Chicago.

Families will enjoy complimentary café and croissants in the Eleanor Wood Prince Salon before breaking into groups:

  • Children ages 0–6 and 7–11 will head to the Alliance’s vibrant Children’s Center and our cozy Brown Médiathèque, respectively, for a story hour featuring age-appropriate titles read in French, Italian, and German by native speakers
  • Kids ages 12 and up will meet Prague-based writer and performer Ondřej Macl for an interactive writing workshop entitled “Kde domov můj? Where Is My Home?”

Doors at 12:30 p.m. for light refreshments. Program at 1:00. Please enter via 54 W Chicago Ave.
