Join us for a unique cheese & wine pairing with chef Penny Liley who is visiting from Burgundy to share her passion and knowledge for the region, its terroir, and its best pairings.

The tasting will include 3 wines and 3 cheeses such as Chablis, Saint Bris, Comté or Délice de Bourgogne. As a welcoming bite, Penny will prepare, and show you how to make, Cougères, Bourgogne’s classic and mouthwatering amuse-bouche!

Penny and co-host Stephanie Sack, from Barge Lady Cruises, will also tell you about their incredible trips, life on the water and running a business in France.


About Penny Liley

About our host: Penny is Cordon Bleu trained chef who began her career cooking for schoolmasters at Eton College in England and Formula 1 drivers on the European circuits. In 1986, she joined the hotel barge Luciole in Burgundy, France, as the cook.

Today, she oversees the running of the business, having swapped her apron for a computer. Penny isn’t quite sure how 40 seasons have passed so quickly, but she’s looking forward to 2026 – marking 60 years since the first hotel barge cruise of the Palinurus, now the Luciole.
