Atelier d'art : Sonia Delaunay avec Floriane Roussel

Join us for a craft night as part of our French-immersion art workshop series!

Inspired by the Franco-Ukrainian painter and textile artist Sonia Delaunay, Chicago-based French artist Floriane Roussel will lead a painting workshop discovering the geometry and vibrant colors of Delaunay’s works.

Guests will enjoy: 

• A complimentary glass of French wine 
• An opportunity to speak French with fellow Francophones
• A chance to get crafty and go home with a new artistic creation

No previous art experience is required! All levels of French are welcome. 

Doors at 6:00 pm. Workshop at 6:30. Please enter via 54 W Chicago Ave. Non-alcoholic options will be available. Tickets are non-refundable after Wednesday, August 26—merci pour votre compréhension.

About the Artist

Sonia Delaunay

Sonia Delaunay was born in Ukraine in 1885 and formally trained in Russia and Germany before moving to France. She co-founded the Orphism art movement, which featured her abstract geomtric style and her use of vibrant colors. She was the first living female artist to have a retrospective exhibition at the Louvre.
