Calling all bon-vivants to join us online on Zoom for a monthly celebration of le bon vin !
Of course we would prefer to get together en présentiel — in your presence. COVID 19 is not making this possible yet, but COVID also happens to bring together bon-vivants from further afield in their appreciation of French wine. Santé! is what we say to stay healthy at the Alliance!
The French wine influence globally cannot be understated. Grape varieties, winemaking techniques and expertise in all current wine-producing countries have ties to France. For this Bon-Vivants Wine Club, we'll be looking specifically at French varietals in California's Central Coast. It's a region our sommelière, Alicia Barrett, thinks you should know more about, and what better way to do so, than by tasting some fantastic varieties native to France made by American hands. From the San Francisco Bay down to Santa Barbara, you'll find Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and many more. We hope you can join us for this casual taste and chat!
Want a wine recommendation? Alicia suggests any of the following producers:
- Au Bon Climat, Santa Barbara
- Beckmen Vineyards, Santa Ynez Valley
- Chanin, Santa Rita Hills
- Tablas Creek, Paso Robles
- Stolpman Vineyards, Ballard Canyon
- Vina Robles, Paso Robles
- Fess Parker, Santa Rita Hills
- Ridge, Santa Cruz Mountains
- Andrew Murray, Santa Ynez Valley
- Sandhi, Santa Rita Hills
