Explore in depth the Northern and Southern Rhone Valley over two classes offering a selection of crus bourgeois, premiers crus and grands crus for an advanced appreciation of some of the finest wine in France…   

A much larger area than its Northern counterpart, the vineyards from Southern Rhône produce an impressive range of wines from affordable and approachable to seriously complex and age-worthy.  Production is dominated by red wine, although it also features high-quality white and rosé.  Join us on a tour through the Southern Rhône as we explore wines from famed regions such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Tavel --and learn what grapes and terroirs make these wines so appealing.

Scott Komplin found his passion for wine when his corporate job sent him to Sonoma, California on an extended project.  A colleague invited him for a sparkling wine tasting at the beautiful Gloria Ferrer vineyards in the Carneros.  Sipping bubbles on the terrace of that gorgeous Spanish villa was all it took.  Now 15 years later, Scott is a trained wine educator, receiving his education through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London.  Scott has traveled extensively to wine regions across the globe…tasting and touring famed producers in regions such as Champagne, Chablis, Burgundy, Gascogne, Okanagan, as well as through the Sonoma and Napa regions of California.
