Keep your French fresh while you're cooped up in the house: Join our online conversation!

This week we meet at a new, early time, so we can get-together with the friends we made during La Tournée des Alliances in March. Meet students like you from Hyderabad in India, Falun in Sweden, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Saint Lucia in the Caribbean and Miami in the US.

All levels are welcome, with lots to talk about en français (or to listen to, if you are a beginner).

Like the Café d’Albi, le Café du Monde is a moment of casual exchange for all French levels, so no pressure! We talk about everything ranging from everyday matters to more complex subjects - but always adapt to everyone's proficiency.

Your hosts: Gabby and Derrick, two of our interns who speak excellent French, and Noémie Thirot, a native French speaker.

Noemie Thirot was an intern at our Alliance for more than a year where she started le Café d’Albi… and fell in love with Chicago. She now joins us from near Toulouse in France!

Derrick and Gabby have been working as interns at the Alliance since September 2020. Gabby is currently a French major at Loyola University Chicago and Derrick minored in French at Skidmore College, graduating in May 2020. Both have spent time in France and love speaking la langue française.
