The International Best Dressed List (IBDL), started in 1940 by former SAIC student Eleanor Lambert, has long spoken to the ways in which our culture is defined by the evolution of fashion. From Audrey Hepburn to LeBron James, the list is a “treasury of who’s who in the world of style, past and present.” Art & Design consultant and writer Laura Layfer talks with the current co-owner of the IBDL Amy Fine Collins, a fashion historian and muse to designers, an acclaimed journalist, current Editor at Large for the online publication Air Mail as well as former longtime Special Correspondent to Vanity Fair, on her book, The International Best Dressed List: The Official Story, published by Rizzoli. The two will discuss how the contexts for great style have changed throughout history and what to expect for the IBDL in the future. And who dresses the best dressed? French couturiers, of course!
This program is a Zoom Webinar with option to view in The Arts Club salon with buffet.
This program is presented in partnership with The Arts Club of Chicago.
