Agnès Varda, along with Jean-Luc Godard, is one of the two surviving leading figures of the French New Wave. What better way to close our Nouvelle Vague, Revisited series than by screening her most recent film? Since her groundbreaking Cléo de 5 à 7, Varda’s career has become, and continues to be, the stuff of legend.;
And what better guest speaker than award-winning photographer Sandro to introduce Visages Villages?
No stranger to road trips, Sandro has taken photographs from the most humble to the most famous and from Papua New Guinea to Hollywood. His teaming up with John Malkovich has resulted in one the most original series of photographs ever to pay homage to the world's greatest photographers. For the past five years, in juried competition within the industry, Sandro has been voted one of the top 200 advertising photographers in the world. Sandro is also involved with Dance for Life,the Midwest's largest performance-based AIDS fundraiser, and he sits on the board of the Museum of Contemporary Photography.
