Jean-Luc Godard, along with Agnes Varda, is the only director from the French New Wave original group still alive and working today. He burst onto the film scene in 1960 with Breathless to change cinema forever.
But four years later, Jean-Luc Godard reimagined the gangster film even more radically with Bande à part (Band of Outsiders). In it, two restless young men (Sami Frey and Claude Brasseur) enlist the object of both of their fancies (Anna Karina) to help them commit a robbery—in her own home.
