Art de Vivre : Henri Samuel, Master of the French Interior

Acclaimed for his mastery of historic design as well as his eye for contemporary presentation and furnishing, Henri Samuel is considered one of the most preeminent French interior designers of the twentieth century. Entertaining was his calling card for the jet-set clientele he attracted and his residence was a showcase for his work.

Author and interior designer Emily Evans Eerdmans takes us on a tour of Samuel’s groundbreaking and inspiring interiors, beginning with his first job assisting Stéphane Boudin of Jansen in the 1920s through postwar Paris society and into the go-go 80’s.

Henri Samuel : Master of the French Interior, is published by Rizzoli New York with forewords by Jacques Grange and Eva Samuel.

This program will be followed by a book sale and signing session with the author.

Emily Evans Eerdmans is the founder of Eerdmans Fine Art and is an acclaimed design historian and author. She teaches connoisseurship and design history at the New York School of Interior Design.
