La vérité is a comedy written by contemporary French novelist and playwright Florian Zeller. It was performed for the first time in 2011 at the Théâtre Montparnasse in Paris, where it was an instant success. Zeller won the prestigious Prix Interallié in 2004 for his novel La fascination du pire and has been called “one of the hottest literary talents in France”.

Plot Synopsis:

Michel, married to Laurence, betrays her by having an affair with his best friend’s wife, Alice. He enmeshes himself in a tangle of lies until he begins to realize that the line between deceiver and deceived is murkier than he thought…
