Chez Kids Academy is the children’s education center of the Alliance Française de Chicago, specially designed for young public and their interests. NEW - Summer Camp 2008 from June 16th to August 1stDevelop your children’s skills, offer them a Summer of Fun, Discovery and Creativity in French! The Alliance Française and Chez Kids Academy propose a 7-week full day program for children age 6 to 12 of discovery through various entertaining workshops to broaden their horizons, make new friends and expose them to French Language and culture. Thanks to fun and structured activities such as Art & Crafts, Games, Music, Singing and Dancing, Sport, Cooking and Field Trips, your children will have many opportunities to develop their skills while having a lot of fun. All levels of French are welcome. download additional information and registration form (1.1 Mb) French ClassesWe aim to give your child a sound appreciation of the French culture as well as an opportunity to discover the language whilst gaining familiarity with basic knowledge, which ultimately will allow your child to communicate in French. Many of these classes have been devised for tots, like the stimulating “Matinées Chez Kids” and “Moms, Pops and Tots”, where your child will discover French words and expressions, whilst touching, smelling, playing and eating healthy snacks! “Moms, Pops and Youngsters” and “Hands-on Interactive French” are other courses teaching youngsters French vocabulary and sentence construction through the use of images, symbols and games. The emphasis is placed on fluency through creativity. For kids age 7 to 10 ½, we propose an academic class called “First Steps Into French” which will allow them to learn basic grammar and vocabulary in French as well as to develop simple communicative skills. The teens are proposed the very active class of intensive practice “Learn & Practice French”, a discovery and learning of grammar and vocabulary through amusing activities using videos, the Internet, pictures, songs, books, comics and much more: a total French Immersion! Enjoy our exclusive class rates with our youth membership. Saturday afternoons workshops and clubsSaturday afternoons are a good time to relax, discover, learn and experience something new. Awaken your children’s curiosity and imagination, develop their critical thinking, and offer them a chance to meet peers sharing the same interest: Chez Kids Academy proposes Ciné-Clubs for all ages, presenting different categories of movies, aged appropriate, in French with English subtitles, Storytelling’s to feed your kids imagination, and Family Cooking Classes, a delicious and creative way to expose them to French culture and language. Parents are welcome for these family events!
