Only one discount at a time is applicable during the same session.
Instructors:
The instructor listed is scheduled to teach the class, but we reserve the right to change instructors or the timing of the class.
Make-up and changes of classes:
A student may make up a missed course in another class during the same week. However, the office AND the teacher must be informed beforehand. Students must obtain a make-up class card from the reception before attending the course. Make-up classes can only be taken in the same session.
All changes of classes from one course to another must be approved by the school and additional tuition or fees resulting from a course transfer are payable at the time the change is made. NO CHANGES are accepted after the second week of classes.
Registration by the class:
If you cannot register for a full session course and wish to register for one class or more, tuition is $40 per 1 hour 45 min class. Upon request, we can custom design a course (7 students minimum).
Open access:
All classes and programs are open to everyone without discrimination on the basis of race, color, nationality and/or ethnic origin.
Textbooks:
Most classes require a textbook, available for purchase in our office. However, once purchased, books (as well as tapes and CDs) are NOT RETURNABLE.
Refunds:
The Alliance Française is a Not-For-Profit Organization committed to offering courses as affordable as possible. In view of our not-for-profit status and our commitment to our instructors, we are obliged to apply the following rules:
• Before the FIRST CLASS, if a request is made in writing, class tuition will be refunded subject to a 20 % cancellation fee ($15.00 minimum and $50.00 maximum).
•After the FIRST CLASS, whether attended or not, tuition will not be refunded.
Credits:
If a request is made IN WRITING (emails, fax or letters / no phone calls accepted!), tuition may be credited for the next session according to the following rules: • If a request is made prior to the first class, tuition will be credited for the following session ONLY, with a 20% administrative fee deducted ($15.00 minimum and $50.00 maximum). • If a request is made prior to the second class, tuition will be credited for the next session ONLY, with the following deductions: a 20% administrative fee ($15.00 minimum and $50.00 maximum) AND the cost of the first class session whether attended or not.
• There will be no credits after the second class.
• Class credits cannot be applied to private lessons.
Cancellation of classes:
The Alliance Française de Chicago reserves the right to cancel a class if the enrollment is insufficient. Tuition payments are then refunded in full or full credits will be transferred to the following session.

Specialized courses (16.5 hours): • A minimum of 7 students required Once a week courses (16.5 hours):
• A minimum of 5 students required Twice a week courses (16.5 hours):
• If only 4 students register, the class will meet 8 times (13h45) instead of 9 times.
• If only 3 students, the class will meet 7 times (12h50) instead of 9 times.
• If only 2 students register, the class will meet 6 times (11h) instead of 9 times. Super accelerated classes (32 hours):
• If only 4 students register, the class will meet 11 times (27h30) instead of 13 times.
• If only 3 students register, the class will meet 9 times (22h30) instead of 13 times.
• If only 2 students register, the class will meet 7 times (17h30) instead of 13 times.
